Mary Ann Marley, 88, of Topeka, passed away Thursday, January 13, 2022.

She was born February 4, 1933, in Appanoose County, Iowa, the daughter of Calvin and Grace (Harl) Miller.
She received her Teaching Certification in 1968 from Oklahoma College of Liberal Arts. She obtained her Reading Specialty Certification in the mid 1980’s. She later obtained her Master’s Degree in Education from Washburn University. She primarily taught Elementary classes.

Ann followed Ed where he pastored, teaching in the same or nearby communities where he was appointed. She retired July 1995, from USD 501 Topeka Public Schools.

She was a member of United Methodist Women where she held leadership positions.

Ann married Edward Eugene Marley on July 3, 1952 at the First United Methodist Church in Fairfield, IA. He preceded her in death on November 7, 2021.

Survivors include her sisters, Nancy Baugher and Janet Hickenbottom; children; Julia Lea Tetuan, Dennis (Anne) Guthrie Marley, Jonell (Earl) Kay Agent, Carl Edward Marley, and Eugene (Myla) Marley; grandchildren, Jennifer Tetuan, Luis Jose Tetuan, Eric Marley, Jamie Muckenthaler, Kyle Muckenthaler, Adam Muckenthaler, Shane Muckenthaler, Jacob Marley, and Amelia Marley; great-grandchildren, Dorian Tetuan, Dustin Tetuan, Devin Coffman, Hailey Clearwater, and Charles Clearwater; great-great-grandchildren, Dorian Tetuan, Jr., Amelia Tetuan, and Jaxon Tetuan.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Ed and granddaughters, Claire Marley and Holly Justice and daughter in law, Belinda Marley.

Services will be at 1:00 p.m. on Wednesday, January 19, 2022 at Mount Hope Cemetery & Funeral Chapel, 4700 SW 17th St., Topeka. Interment will follow at Mount Hope Cemetery & Funeral Chapel, in Topeka.
