Jorden Whitney Austin
1990 - 2021

Jorden Whitney Austin, 31, of Overland Park, passed away Monday, December 27, 2021, at the home of a relative in Topeka. She was born March 7, 1990, in Topeka, to Kristin M. Hoffman and Andrew “Drew” V. Austin.

Jorden attended Topeka and Norman, Oklahoma public schools, and earned her credentials as a Certified Nurse Aide from Washburn University Institute of Technology in 2014. Jorden also earned her Certified Medication Aide credentials in Kansas City in early 2021. She recently expressed feeling joy at volunteering to work shifts over the holidays to allow her colleagues with children to be home with them-such was her generous nature.

Jorden was soft-spoken but exuberant, enjoyed music, dancing, laughing with friends and family, and loved butterflies and dolphins. She had warm, brown eyes, fantastic dimples, and a collection of sassy high-heeled shoes.

Jorden is preceded in death by her father (2008), her paternal grandfather Henry Austin (2021), her maternal grandfather Karl M. Hoffman (1996), as well as her maternal great-grandparents Robert E. and Betty Virginia (Jorgensen) Hoffman (1996, 2011).

Survivors include Jorden’s mother, Kristin, of Topeka; grandmother Mayre M. M. Hoffman of Topeka; grandmother Ella Mae Austin of Topeka; maternal brothers Alexander (Dawn Jordan) Austin-Hoffman of Norman, Oklahoma, and Johnathan Burns of Olathe; paternal brothers, Trey (Viajunnae) and Isaiah Austin, all of Topeka; her maternal aunts and uncles, Fahryn E. Hoffman (Christopher White) of Lawrence, Joseph R. (Heather) Hoffman of Prairie Village, and Wesley C. (Erika) Hoffman of Mesa, Arizona; her paternal uncle, Lamont (Theresa) Austin of Topeka; and numerous other relatives and friends. Jorden was known to be a loving sister and aunt and a devoted friend.

It was Jorden’s wish to be cremated. A memorial service and celebration of Jorden’s life will take place on a future date.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be sent to the family in care of Penwell-Gabel, 1321 SW 10th Ave., Topeka, KS, to ease the planning of Jorden’s final arrangements. To donate directly online, please copy and paste the URL below:
