Darlene Marie Fiedler, 71, of Salina, passed away Wednesday, December 29, 2021.

She was born March 18, 1950, in Newton, Kansas, the daughter of A. Otis and Dorothy (Cross) Beach. She was a 1968 graduate of Neodesha High School, Neodesha, Kansas. Following graduation, she attended business school and trained to be a court stenographer.

Darlene worked as an Administrative Assistant at Kansans for Life at its Best! in Topeka, Kansas and Duckwall-ALCO Stores, Inc. in Abilene, Kansas. Darlene was employed by ADM (Archer-Daniels-Midland), retiring after 27 years of service.

She was a member of the United Methodist Church and The Sassy Ladies Red Hat Society in Manhattan, KS.

Darlene married Thomas Tomson on May 2, 1970, in Neodesha, KS. They divorced in 1977. She married Gary Fiedler on November 1, 1980. They divorced in 1994. Survivors include her daughter, Steffani K. Tomson-DeGreeff, and her husband Rev. Michael, of Hutchinson, KS; her son, Brandon K. Tomson, and his wife, Becky of Salina, KS; grandchildren, Macie Knak, and her husband Kevin, Emily Tomson, Olivia Tomson, Lauren Tomson, Zachary DeGreeff, Nicholas DeGreeff, Benjamin DeGreeff and Alexander DeGreeff; her sister, Pamela Whitmore of Topeka; niece, Jennifer Schulz, and her husband Korey; nephew Timothy Whitmore, and his wife Nina; great nieces and nephew, Reagan Schulz, Finley Schulz, Reilly Whitmore, Mason Whitmore: and her chihuahua, Primrose of the home.

She was preceded in death by her parents, and her sister, Sharrell Beach; and her beloved long haired dachshund, Nibbles.

Darlene enjoyed spending time with her family and friends and taking care of her dogs. Darlene enjoyed visiting Rocky Mountain National Park and Colorado, being in nature and traveling. In her free time, she loved making cards, knitting, needle felting, sewing, scrapbooking, and crafting. She loved to read, watch movies, play cards and games and complete puzzles. Darlene enjoyed cooking for her family and friends.

Honoring her request, cremation is planned. A memorial ceremony will be held Saturday, April 30th, 11:00am at the Eisenhower Park Rose Garden Pergola, 500 Pine St, Abilene, Kansas.
