Elise Maureen Hubka
1966 - 2021

Elise Maureen Hubka, 55, Topeka, passed away Friday, October 1, 2021 after a long and valiant seven year battle with cancer.

Elise was born March 1, 1966, in Salina, Kansas, to Albert and Margaret (Morris) Bosch. In 1984, she graduated from Salina Central High School and then went on to earn a Bachelor's Degree in Psychology from Kansas State University.

She is survived by her husband of 24 years, George B. Hubka, and their children, Emma Elise Hubka, William Patrick Hubka, Matthew Baker Hubka; her mother, Margaret Bosch; and sister, Mary (Walter) Neuhauser.

She was preceded in death by her father, Albert.

Elise worked for many years as a disability examiner for the state of Kansas.

Following the birth of her children, she devoted her many talents to nurturing her family and supporting children in the local community. Elise was very active with Barbara's Conservatory of Dance and Ballet Midwest. From the time they were small, all of her children performed in the annual production of the Nutcracker, a tradition which Elise loved. In support of the performances, she used her talent with sewing to create many beautiful costumes for her children and other ballet performers. Prior to her illness, she also assisted in decorating and preparing for WOW (Word on Wednesday) at Faith Lutheran Church, as well as volunteering at the grade school, helping children learn to read.

Elise enjoyed many hobbies, including sewing, cross-stitch, fashion design, photography, and scrapbooking. She always brought a smile to the nurses during chemo treatments with her vibrant fashion taste in clothing and her variety of hats. Elise loved her dogs which were always an integral part of the family.

Elise's family will greet friends from 10 am-12 pm Saturday, October 9, 2021 at Dove Cremations & Funerals, Southwest Chapel, 3700 SW Wanamaker Rd, Topeka.

Memorial contributions may be made to American Cancer Society, PO Box 42040, Oklahoma City, OK 73123-3000.
