Paula J. (Stuenkel) Bliss, 91, Topeka, passed away Thursday, September 2, 2021.

She was born February 17, 1930, in Lenora, Kansas, the daughter of William F. and Violet R. (Gibson) Stuenkel. She graduated from Topeka High School in 1948 and received her bachelor’s of science degree from Washburn University in 1953.

Paula was a medical technologist working at Stormont-Vail Hospital, Memorial Hospital, later for Lattimore-Fink Laboratory and retired with Cotton-O'Neil Clinic in 1992.

She was a member of First Congregational Church for many years, where she played hand bells. She loved to travel with her family and was an avid Caribbean cruiser. She enjoyed playing bridge with her bridge group. She was very talented with cross-stitch, crocheting, and sewing.

On August 19, 1951, she married Donald Charles Bliss in Topeka, Kansas. He preceded her in death on February 24, 2015.

Survivors include four children: Gary (Teresa) Bliss, Linda (Jeff) Thiele, Nancy (Keith) Ice, and Tom (Debra) Bliss; brother, William G. Stuenkel; six grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; and several cousins including Judy Soule and Joyce Parsons.

Graveside services will be 1pm Saturday, September 11, 2021 at Mount Hope Cemetery, 4700 SW 17th St, Topeka. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to American Heart Association, 1861 North Rock Road, Ste. 380, Wichita, KS 67206.
