Theodore Robert "Ted" Montgomery
1958 - 2021

Theodore “Ted” Robert Montgomery, 63, passed away June 16, 2021.

He was born April 7, 1958, in Topeka, the son of Patrick and JoAnn Montgomery. Ted was preceded in death by his twin brother, father, and grandparents.

Ted lived in Berryton for most of his life, with his wife, Carol, who survives him. Ted and Carol were united in marriage on May 30, 1987 in Topeka, and together shared 34 years of loving marriage. Carol’s children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren were like his own and bought him much joy. His great-grandchildren were the light of his life. Ted is also survived by his mother, sister, brother, and niece.

Ted graduated from Washburn Rural High School, worked as a welder in the Topeka area for many years, and was a member of the UA Local 441. An avid hunter and dog lover, Ted made regular trips around the state with his dogs and his friends for quail and pheasant seasons. He and Carol participated in competitive FITASC shooting for many years.

Always ready with a joke and a laugh, Ted never knew a stranger, and many lives are better for having known him.

Family will greet friends on Sunday, June 20, 2021 from 2:00 to 4:00 pm at the Penwell-Gabel Funeral Home, 1321 SW 10th.

Memorial contributions may be made to the Helping Hands Humane Society.
