Rachel "Maxine" Swanson, 99, of Topeka, passed away Sunday, November 8, 2020.
She was born October 19, 1921, in Pleasanton, Kansas, the daughter of Roscoe Tolbert and Mabel Alice (Coppage) Leonard. She was a graduate of Pleasanton High School, Pleasanton, Kansas.
Maxine married Carl R. Swanson on May 21, 1941. He preceded her in death on September 20, 2007. Survivors include her son, Stan Swanson and his wife Sharyl of Olathe, KS; two grandchildren, Meridith Bihuniak and her husband Chris of Prairie Village, KS and Wylie Swanson of Phoenix, AZ; and seven great-grandchildren, Sam Bihuniak, Oliver Bihuniak, Avery Bihuniak, Emerson Bihuniak, Gage Swanson, Chloe Swanson and Ariel Swanson.
She was preceded in death by her parents and five siblings.
A private graveside service will be held at Pleasanton Cemetery, Pleasanton, Kansas.
