In Memory Of
Shirley A. Johnson
1959 - 2020

Shirley Ann (Eulert) Johnson was born on November 9, 1959 in Topeka, the youngest daughter of Harold and Sharon (Lietz) Eulert. She passed away on Saturday, September 26, 2020. She grew up and attended school in Topeka, graduating from Topeka West High School in 1978. Shirley enjoyed playing softball.

Through her joy of playing softball, she met her husband, Chris Johnson. Chris and Shirley married on July 2, 1988. This union produced two sons.

Shirley enjoyed watching her sons grow. She regularly attended and helped with their sporting events, Boy Scouts and Topeka West Charger Band activities. She was proud as both sons achieved the rank of Eagle Scout. She was also proud of all they accomplished, what they have become and will miss seeing what the future holds for them.

Shirley was an avid sports fan, especially if it involved the Kansas City Royals, Kansas City Chiefs and the Kansas Jayhawks. Her yard was a gathering spot for many types of birds and wildlife which she enjoyed watching and identifying. She enjoyed placing colorful flags in her front yard, changing them often. Shirley was a chocoholic and nothing satisfied her more than fudge.

Shirley was a part of a large and loving extended family. She cherished these chances to meet and talk with other family members and hosted many family gatherings.

Shirley was an active member of Susanna Wesley United Methodist Church. She attended regularly and participated in activities.

Shirley was a giving person. She spent her career serving others through her work as a Certified Nursing Assistant at the Kansas Neurological Institute, the Veteran’s Administration Hospital and other home health agencies. Shirley’s final act of giving was an organ donor, impacting over 70 additional lives.

In addition to her husband, Shirley is survived by her sons, Colin (Eugene, Oregon) and Ian (Topeka). She is also survived by her mother, Sharon Eulert and sisters, Denise Eulert and Carol (Kevin) Morgan. She was preceded in death by her father, Harold Eulert.
