She was born September 27, 1958, in Anthony, KS, the daughter of Verlyn DeWayne Bruce and Martha Jane (Platner) McKay.
Peggy worked as a florist. She owned and operated Garden Gate Florist in Topeka.
Peggy married Roy Eugene Hoag on July 2, 1994 in Topeka.
Survivors include her husband, Roy; her daughter, Jennifer Schreiner of Americus, KS; her grandchildren, Brandon Larkins, Madison Bauer-Schreiner, Mia Bauer-Schreiner, Malia Bynum, Sophia Bynum and Hayden Coop; her siblings, Deena (Glen) Williams, Tammy (Mike) Johnson, Judy (Darin) Smith and Jeff Bruce. She was preceded in death by her parents.
Peggy enjoyed gardening, designing and working as a florist. She was a big fan of KU Basketball. Most of all she loved her family and being a “Nana” to her grandchildren.
Honoring Peggy’s request, cremation is planned. A visitation will take place from 6:00 pm to 8:00 pm, Friday, September 18, 2020 at Penwell-Gabel Cremations, Funerals and Receptions, 1321 SW 10th Ave., Topeka, KS 66604. A graveside will take place at 9:00 am, Saturday, September 19, 2020 at McPherson Cemetery in McPherson, KS.
