Mary E. McFann, 83, of Topeka, passed away Tuesday, July 7, 2020.

She was born June 5, 1937, in Oskaloosa, Kansas, the daughter of Louis and Leona (Kitchel) McClurg. She graduated from Shawnee Mission High School.

Paul and she traveled all over. One of their favorite destinations was Branson. Together they have also been members of the Gideon International for 30 years.

She faithfully enjoyed serving others. She was an active member of Topeka First Assembly of God Church. She taught children's church for many years in Overland Park and Topeka and led Bible studies.

She volunteered for over 20 years as Grandma at Royal Family KIDS, a camp for children in the Foster Care System.

She taught sign language and interpreted at camps, schools and other events including interpreting for PBS.

Above all else, family was important.

Mary married Paul McFann on March 17, 1961 in Overland Park, KS, he survives. Other survivors include her daughters, Cherie (George) Braaten, Rhonda (Rick) Trupp, Elizabeth (Calvin) Wright, and Paula (Anthony) Thompson; grandchildren, Taylor (Aaron) Matthews; Dallas Wright, Morgan Trupp, Crystal Wright, Samantha Wright, Hailey Trupp, Aubrey Thompson, Britton Thompson, and Caydon Thompson. She was preceded in death by her parents and her brother, Donald Gene McClurg (Barbara).

A Funeral Ceremony will be at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, July 11, 2020 at the Topeka First Assembly of God, 500 SW 27th St., Topeka. Interment will follow at Memorial Park Cemetery, in Topeka. The family will greet friends an hour prior to service time at the church.

Masks are required at the church and we do ask that you maintain social distancing.
