Anthony G. Smith, 27, of Topeka, passed away Monday, June 15, 2020.

He was born November 28, 1992, in New Orleans, Louisiana, the son of Garry Hill and Terri (Smith) Mccray.

Anthony attended Highland Park High School in Topeka and later went on to attend Delgado College in New Orleans. He worked as a truck driver for 3 years.

He was a member of Philadelphia Missionary Baptist Church of New Orleans, El Shaddi Ministries Community Church of Topeka and Victory City Church of Topeka.

Anthony is survived by his father, Garry (Yolanda) Hill of New Orleans, LA; his siblings, Darell Smith, Garenika Smith, Terrinika Smith, Keoshi Smith, Patrice Williams and Garry Hill, Jr., Toi Williams, Tia Williams, Triyonda Williams and Garion Williams; his children, MaLaysha Smith, Kyng Ama’Zhae Smith, Josiah Smith, Kyng Ah’mari Smith and four step children; significant other Me’Lesia Black; Josiah’s mother, Jamisha Jones and Kyng A’mari’s mother, Ashley Polizzi; his grandparents, Terry Jackson and Darryl Brown; his best friend, Jonathan Myles and a host of other family and friends.

He was preceded in death by his mother, Terri Mccray; his grandparents, Ardella Hill, Gwen Jackson and Charlie Hill.

Anthony enjoyed basketball, football, weight lifting, dancing and boxing. He obtained his CDL license and was an honor student. His daddy considered him a man above all men.

Honoring Anthony’s request, cremation is planned. The family will greet friends Friday, June 26, 2020 from 12:00 pm to 2:00 pm at Penwell-Gabel Cremations, Funerals and Receptions. A memorial ceremony will be held at 10:00 am, Monday, June 29, 2020 at the Penwell-Gabel Cremations, Funerals and Receptions, 1321 SW 10th Ave., Topeka.
