Robert K. Land, 86, of Topeka, passed away Tuesday, April 28, 2020 at Midland Care.
He was born November 14, 1933, in Benton, Arkansas, the son of Robert and Alma (Sullivan) Land. Robert graduated from Benton High School, the class of 1952. After high school, Robert married Verna (Edmonson) Land in 1958 in Clarksdale, MS. She survives.

Robert enlisted in the Air National Guard of Kansas in 1958; He served in the Air National Guard during the Vietnam conflict. Robert continued as a Tech with the Air National Guard of Kansas, retiring after 33 years in 1986 as Chief Master Sargent Robert Land. He worked at the Kansas Air National Guard 190th ARFW, and also worked for the Kansas Highway Patrol at the Highway Patrol Weigh Station near McFarland.

Robert had many interests; he loved flying, (piloting small aircraft), fishing, gardening, and woodworking. Robert built bird houses, was a bird watcher, and enjoyed talking to his partner in gardening, Jenny.

Mr. Land was a 32 degree Mason and was a member of the Dover Masonic Lodge # 138, York Rite Bodies, and Order of the Eastern Star, Helena Chapter # 210.

He is survived by his wife Verna of the home; his son Rick (Sherri) Land, daughter Brenda (Larry) Mason, his grandchildren; Dustin Land, Misty Reddick, Brandon Mason, and Jarrod Mason; and his great-grandchildren, Alyssa Land, Dalton Land, Ryan Land, and Caleb Reddick.

A visitation will be at Penwell-Gabel Cremations, Funerals and Receptions,1321 SW 10th Avenue
Topeka, KS 66604, from 5:00 pm until 7:00 pm on Friday, May 1st, 2020.

A graveside service with Military and Masonic honors will take place on Saturday, May 2, 2020 at Memorial Park Cemetery, 3616 SW 6th Ave, Topeka, at 12:45 p.m.
