Twilla graduated from Topeka High school in 1954. She retired in 1992 after working 25 years at Heifner Nursery & Garden Center in Topeka. She was an avid golfer and enjoyed gardening and traveling with her family. Twilla liked to stay busy during her retirement years and her passion for horticulture led her to work seasonally at Blackburn’s Nursery. Also, during her retirement, Twilla developed a love for dollhouse miniatures and started her own business “Twilla’s Tiny Treasures” in the early 1990s. Twilla was a member of the National Association of Miniature Enthusiasts (NAME) and the International Guild of Miniature Artisans (IGMA), and her work was featured in publications such as the Nutshell News Miniature Magazine.
