Roy E. Mannen, 88, of Topeka, passed away Sunday, December 8, 2019.

He was born July 21, 1931, in Topeka, Kansas, the son of John and Marguerite (McGhie) Mannen. He graduated from Topeka High School.

In 2018 he received his 50 year membership pin to IBEW. He was an avid camper, water skier, and fisherman. Above all else he was a devoted husband and family man. He was an Army veteran and served in the Korean War.

Roy married Doris L. Smith on December 30, 1972 in Topeka, Kansas. She preceded him in death on November 19, 2018. Survivors include a daughter, Diana Busey; son, Roy (Debbie) Mannen; step-son, Richard Johnson; two grandchildren and two great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents; wife; step-son, James Johnson; son-in-law, Ken Busey and siblings, Margaret Sewell and John Mannen.

The family will greet friends during a visitation on Saturday, December 14, 2019 from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. at Penwell-Gabel, 1321 SW 10th Ave., Topeka, KS.

A Funeral Ceremony will be at 2:00 p.m., Sunday, December 15, 2019 at the Mount Hope Cemetery & Funeral Chapel, 4700 SW 17th St., Topeka. Private interment will take place at Mount Hope Cemetery in Topeka.

Memorial contributions may be made to IBEW local 226 Death Benefit Fund, 1620 NW Gage Blvd Topeka, KS 66618.
