In Memory Of
Owen M. Hughes
Owen M. Hughes, 15, of Topeka, passed away Tuesday, November 12, 2019.
Owen was one of the most kind, generous, loving people I ever had the privilege of knowing. To Owen, his family was the MOST important thing in the world. He loved spending time with his Big Brother, Aaron, at his apartment or playing video games with his little brother, Daegan, or even chasing his baby sister, Cecilia, around the park.
If you were a friend of Owen's, there wasn't anything he wouldn't do for you. Owen had a ton of friends, people he loved, but, if you were a super-close friend, a "best friend", if you will, you were considered family to Owen. There wasn't anyone he was closer to than his best friend, his brother, Zion. They were inseparable for the good, the bad, and even the ugly.
Owen was always trying to make people laugh. He was exceptionally funny and his laugh was contagious. It was impossible to be in a bad mood when Owen was around, He simply didn't allow it. He truly had compassion for people and just wanted everyone around him to be as happy as he was.
The family will greet friends during a Celebration of Life Visitation from 2:00 p.m. until 4:00 p.m. on Saturday, December 7, 2019 at Penwell-Gabel Cremations, Funerals and Receptions, 1321 SW 10th Ave., Topeka, KS 66604.
