In Memory Of
Rose M Burns
1931 - 2019

Rose M Burns, 88, of Topeka, passed away Saturday, July 13, 2019.

She was born January 3, 1931 to Pedro and Evelyn (Stage) Mendoza in Topeka, Kansas. She graduated from Topeka High School and attended Clarks Business School. She worked for the State of Kansas for 25 years.

Rose married Wayne Slauson and had a son, David Slauson. Rose and Wayne later divorced, but remained friends. Later, she married Oliver Burns.

Survivors include sisters, Margaret Smith, Louise Hubenak, and Dawn Mendoza; granddaughter, Heather Slauson Beeson (Paul Beeson); grandson, Scott Slauson; great-grandchildren, Nathan Beeson and Elaina Beeson; daughter-in-law, Mary Slauson Blanchard; first husband, Wayne Slauson. She was preceded in death by her parents, sister, Judy, husband, Oliver, and son David.

Rose was a loving mother, grandmother, and great grandmother. She was practical about life and a planner, but we have found that she was more sentimental than she let on.

In following her specific wishes, no services will be held at this time.

In lieu of flowers, Memorial Contributions may be made to the donor's choice.
