Chris Hayden, 62, of Topeka, passed away Saturday, February 9, 2019.

She was born April 23, 1956, in Hays, Kansas, the daughter of Jay and Patricia (Wasinger) Schlyer. She graduated from Hayden Catholic High School.

Chris was employed with Adams Business Forms for over 30 years. Recently she worked at Sunflower Support as a caregiver. Chris was an avid Topeka Pilots Hockey fan. She enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren.

Survivors include daughters, Tana (Brad) Griffith, Tierney (DeAndre) Gillis; brothers, Brad Schlyer, Benjy Schlyer; sister, Amy Schlyer; sister-in-law, Pat Schlyer; step-mother, Arlene Schlyer; grandchildren, Enich, Kai, Jaylene, Wesley.

She was preceded in death by her mother, Patricia McKinley, father, Jay Schlyer; brother, Dan Schlyer and step-father, Carl McKinley.

A celebration of Chris's life will be held at 2:00 pm., Friday, February 15, 2019, at Penwell-Gabel - Mid-Town Chapel, 1321 SW 10th Avenue, Topeka, Kansas 66604. Family will greet friends one hour prior. Private interment will be at a later date.

Memorial contributions may be made to Children's Mercy Hospital, 2401 Gillham, Kansas City, MO 64108.
