Joseph Louis Frydrych, 89, of Topeka, passed away Thursday, December 27, 2018.

He was born September 17, 1929, in Ipswich, Massachusetts, the son of Walter and Josephine (Gorcyca) Frydrych. He served in the Air Force during the Korean War and was honorably discharged as a Staff SGT.

Joseph married Beverly Hanna on April 25, 1954 in Topeka.

Joseph was employed by the Jostens as Purchasing and Traffic Manager for over 30 years.
He was a member of the First Presbyterian Church where he served as a Deacon. He was also a member of American Legion, Shriners, Topeka Jayhawk Club, Topeka Chamber of Commerce, Cosmo club and was a Rotarian. He also was a community volunteer for KTWU, the Capper Foundation and other community organizations.

Throughout his life his hobbies included wood carving, golf, tennis, working in the yard, and going to the casino. He was an avid KU Basketball and KC Royals fan. In recent years he enjoyed watching westerns.

Survivors include his wife, Beverly Frydrych, Topeka, KS; daughter, Susan Palmer, Las Cruces, NM; sisters, Charlotte Frydrych, Julia Dudzisz, both of Ipswich, MA and a grandson, Christopher Palmer, Las Cruces, NM.

He was preceded in death by his parents and five siblings.

Visitation will be 5:00 to 7:00 pm Wednesday, January 2, 2019 at Penwell-Gabel Mid-Town Chapel, 1321 SW 10th St. Topeka, KS. Funeral service will be 12:00 pm Thursday, January 3, 2019 at First Presbyterian Church 817 SW Harrison, Topeka, KS 66612. Burial will follow at Mount Hope Cemetery, Topeka, KS.
