In Memory Of
Robert Allen "Bob" Singer
1949 - 2018

Robert Allen “Bob” Singer, 68, Topeka, passed away Sunday, December 9, 2018 on the final night of Hanukkah.

Bob was born December 24, 1949 in Brooklyn, New York, the son of Edmund and May (Rosenberg) Singer. He graduated from Oceanside High School in Long Island, NY before moving to Kansas to attend the College of Emporia, graduating in 1972. In 1973 he married his love, tying the knot with Kathy Hale on November 18.

His affable charm, talent for aggrandizement and easy ability to make friends and conversation made him a natural salesman. He was easily interested, quick to learn and a good listener. He worked with several companies in the Topeka area, selling everything from cleaning supplies to egg production machinery to life insurance. He derived immense satisfaction from either giving or getting a good deal.
Bob and Kathy raised two sons. The boys carry countless memories of their dad. Bob was generous with both his time and his love. Whether it was time spent on Lake Perry, fishing or driving to and from BMX racing events, Bob was enthusiastic and present. They could not have asked for a better role model and father.

Bob liked a good joke, a good cup of coffee and the NY Yankees. He served his daughter-in-law donuts. He enjoyed many things in this life, but he especially loved the outdoors. He golfed until his MS prevented him from doing so, so he learned to play the harmonica instead. He was an optimist. He was relatively unafraid and never ashamed. He collected items ranging from watches, to coins to canes to driving hats, which he wore when taking his granddaughters for a spin in his beloved Miata.

He is survived, will be missed and always loved by his wife, Kathy, his sons Anthony Singer and daughter-in-law Kari Ann Rinker, Wichita, son Ryan Singer, Lawrence; 4 granddaughters; 1 great-grandson; and brothers, Jeff Singer, Long Island, NY and Chuck Rosenkrantz, Plantation, FL.

Funeral services will be held at 1:30 p.m. on Thursday, December 13, 2018 at Penwell-Gabel Mid-Town Chapel, 1321 SW 10th Avenue, Topeka. Burial will follow at Memorial Park Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society or the Mid America Chapter of the National Multiple Sclerosis Society.
