Lisa was born September 14, 1932 in Blythedale, MO, the daughter of Chancy and Cora (Waddilove) Hoagland. She attended schools in Liberal, MO and Washburn University in Topeka. She received her L.P.N. license at Poudre Valley Memorial Hospital in Ft. Collins, CO.
Lisa married Alvin “Babe” Hermsen on November 25, 1958 in Miami, OK. He died November 12, 2014. Survivors include daughters, Cheryl “Chae” (Joe) Williams, Burns, WY, Vicki (Sonny) Smith, Ridgecrest, CA, Jan Hermsen, Waldorf, MD, Jo Thornton, Kooskia, ID; Francis Gersic (First Boy) Bokelia, FL; grandchildren, Ryan McCoy, Megan Akers, Amy Musteen, Scott McEntee, Matthew McCloskey, Lisa Wade, Cara and Cora Cobb, Laura Ostrowski, Karen Berglander, Michelle Gersic, Christine Suskind, Susie Gersic and Camille Gersic; 40 great-grandchildren and one expected; and 12 great-great grandchildren. She was also preceded in death by a daughter, Rebecca Hermsen; granddaughter, Stacy McFarlan; great-grandson, Destined Tobe McFarlan; 4 brothers; and 2 sisters.
She enjoyed traveling and was proud to have visited all 50 states.
Funeral services will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Monday, December 3, 2018 at Mount Hope Cemetery & Funeral Chapel. Entombment will be in the Mount Hope Mausoleum. The family will receive friends from 2:00 – 4:00 p.m. on Sunday, December 2, 2018 at the Penwell-Gabel Mid-Town Chapel.
Memorial contributions may be made to Great Lakes Caring Hospice or the Disabled American Veterans.
