Lee Benteman, 88, of Topeka, passed away Thursday, November 1, 2018.

He was born July 10, 1930, son of Fritz and Erma (Kipp) Benteman .

Lee was proud to have served his country as a medic and truck driver in the Korean War.

He worked at Goodyear Tire for 37 years.

Lee married JoAnn Kranz May 26, 1955 in Manhattan, KS.

Survivors include his wife, JoAnn; son, James (Lisa) Benteman; daughter, Leann (Brett) Dexter; grandchildren, Dale (Ashley) Dexter, Keaton Dexter; his best friend Buddy; brothers, Frank Milton, George and sisters, Mable Beem, Martha Mullins, Florence Kennedy.

He was preceded in death by his parents; brothers, Norman, Fritz, Joe, Jimmy and sisters, Susie Parmentier, Erma Mondt, Bertha Epperson.

Family will greet friends from 2:00 to 4:00 p.m. Sunday, November 4, 2018 at Mount Hope Cemetery and Funeral Chapel, 4700 S.W. 17th St. Topeka, KS. Funeral service will be 10:30 a.m. Monday, November 5, 2018 in the Chapel at Mount Hope Cemetery. Graveside service will be 1:00 p.m. Tuesday, November 6, 2018 at Vansburgh Cemetery, Brownell, KS.

In lieu of flowers you may bring a dog collar for a dog in need or contributions may be given to the Helping Hands Humane Society, 5720 S.W. 21st Street, Topeka, KS 66604.
