Alpha N. Smith, 96, of Topeka passed away on September 20, 2018.

She was born on October 10, 1921 in Elk City, KS the daughter of Francis A. and Bertha L. Stinson.

She graduated from Field Kinley High School in 1939. She worked as teacher during her younger years and as a bank teller for Condon Bank of Coffeyville, KS for many years.

She married Monroe M. Smith on September 12, 1945 in Independence, KS. He preceded her in death on June 21, 1993.

She was also preceded in death by her son, Dennis A. Smith in 2013; as well as a brother, Aden Stinson and his wife Jewel.

She is survived by grandchildren, Melanie C. Brown (Chad), and Stephanie A. Little (Nate); great-grandchildren, Caleb E. Brown, Cooper A. Brown, and Nora C. Little; nephews, Alvin and Floyd Ray Kemmerer; as well as her daughter-in-law Loretta R. Smith.

The family will receive friends during a visitation on Wednesday, September 26, 2018 from 6:30 to 8:00 p.m. at the Penwell-Gabel Mid-Town Chapel, 1321 SW 10th Avenue, Topeka.

Graveside services will be held at 12:30 p.m. on Thursday, September 27, 2018 at Restlawn Memorial Park Cemetery, 2000 Woodland Avenue, Coffeyville, Kansas, 67337.
