She was preceded in death by her parents, Reinhardt and Selma Kohls; siblings Elda Pistora, Orville Kohls, Lois Seitz, and Norwin Kohls.
Della married Marvin Billings on May 8, 1966 in Topeka. He survives. Other survivors include children, Roger Billings, Kevin Billings (Keri), Coleen Akers (Myron); grandchildren, Krista Akers, Austin Webber, Jessica Jones, Alyssa Jones, Brendan Jones; siblings, Leoria Kohls, Deniece Roth (Bill), Nina Borgstadter, Rolland Kohls, as well as numerous other extended family members.
During her younger years she enjoyed bowling, watching KC Royals baseball, KU Basketball, and gardening. Later in life she loved quilting, embroidering, and making baby blankets.
She spent many years caring for children. Throughout her life she cared for over 30 families with young children.
The family will receive friends during a visitation from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. on Wednesday, July 11, 2018 at the Penwell-Gabel Mid-Town Chapel, 1321 SW 10th Avenue, Topeka.
A funeral service will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Thursday, July 12, 2018 at St. John’s Evangelical Lutheran Church, 901 SW Fillmore, Topeka. Burial will immediately follow at West Lawn Memorial Gardens, 820 SW Auburn Road.
Memorial contributions may be made to St. John’s Lutheran Church.
