I knew Bonnie when we both worked at the VA Medical Center. I retired years before she retired. She was a dedicated employee.
She had empathy for the veterans and treated them well.
Bonnie was soft-spoken, had a good sense of humor and a quiet, good laugh.
As a proud dog owner, she walked her tiny dog in our neighborhood. Couple of times she stopped to talk while I was in the yard.
Haven't seen her for sometime and wondered about her health.
Saddened when I saw her obituary in the paper.

Well, per your recommendation, we had our February monthly luncheon at Grandma's Wok on Thursday, February 15th. I think we all enjoyed ourselves as we always do; THANKS for the recommendation!
Though you were certainly not able to be with us, you were "with us" as your name was on our lips and in our hearts as we shared the hour or so together. We prayed and gave thanks that we were able to count you among our friends over these last several years; I could not remember when you started attending our little once-a-month feast but I know it has been at least 5, probably more.
I also brought your autobiography, "One Red Rose," to share with all who were present. One of our monthly lunch friends took it home to read more thoroughly. You definitely marched forward to fashion as wonderful a life as possible! What an example to all!
Now for an apology: I surely wish I had followed up with you after calling in January to see if you wanted to attend our regular third Thursday lunch at "Pastrami's". My heart sank as I was making calls about this month's lunch and our friend who usually makes all the calls asked about you, wondering if an obituary she had read was for you. Sadly, when she told me the last name, I knew the notice was yours.
I could rattle on but know we were all grateful for having known you and having shared some friendly hours across the tables from one another over these last however many years.

Meet Bonnie at the Needlework Guild. We had a lot in common. I was in awe of her baking and her glass blowing, tho. She was such a unique and interesting individual. RIP Bonnie.

I met Bonnie through the Lace group that meets at Yak-N-Yarn on Mondays. Bonnie was always so excited to learn something new and never gave up mastering a task even when it was difficult for her. She was always cheerful and I never heard her say a bad word about anyone. She was greatly looking forward to learning to weave in the up coming year and I'm sorry she won't have the opportunity to do that. She amazed me with all her artistic abilities and even gave me one of her blown glass pieces. It sits in my window sill and will always remind me of her. She was a beautiful soul and I know she has returned to that God who gave her life.
