Donna Gwen (Brown) Hoffmeister

Donna Gwen (Brown) Hoffmeister, 87, Topeka, passed away Wednesday, January 10, 2018, from complications of Alzheimers at Lexington Park Extended Care in Topeka, Kansas
.
Donna was born April 16, 1930, in Topeka, Kansas the daughter of Richard W. and Peggy D. Brown. Donna and Charles Hoffmeister were married on October 22, 1950, enjoying over 67 years together.

Donna managed Peacocks Dry Cleaners and Laundry Mat for several years. She then was employed by Capper Foundations as Work Shop supervisor retiring from there after many years of service. She later worked at Kohl’s and retiring after 15 years.

She was active as a Girl Scout and Cub Scout leader, DeMolay Mother Club, a member of Job’s Daughters Bethel # 1, and helped in her daughter’s Bethel # 57. She was a 69 year active member of Beulah Chapter # 34, O.E.S, Past Matron 3 times, Beulah Emeralds, Beulah Past Matrons and Patrons Club, Social Order of the Beauceant, Assembly No. 24.

Donna along with her husband were avid campers and belong to the Topeks Camping Club. She is a member of Highland Park United Methodist Church.

Survivors include her husband, Charles H. Hoffmeister; daughter, Rebecca Tomlinson (Bruce), Mayetta, KS; son: Charles Richard Hoffmeister (Coleen) Denver, CO; grandchildren: Raina “Charlie” Tomlinson, Junction City, KS, Jamie Tomlinson (Tori) great-grandson, Declan Tomlinson, Russell, KS; grandson: Matthew Tomlinson (Lucy); great-granddaughter: Emma Tomlinson.

Funeral services will be at 11:00 AM, Wednesday, January 17, 2018, at Penwell-Gabel Parker-Price Chapel, 245 NW Independence Avenue, Topeka. Funeral services will be followed by Eastern Star Services conducted by Beulah Chapter # 34, O.E.S. Reverend Teresa Ingle will officiate. Pall bearers will be Jamie Tomlinson, Matthew Tomlinson, Raina Tomlinson, Bruce Tomlinson, Russ Thoman, and Earl Olson. Honorary Pall Bearers will be Tori Tomlinson, Lucy Scofield Tomlinson, Fred Johnson, Billy Detherage, and Kenneth Cowing.

Interment will be in Topeka Cemetery, 1601 SE Tenth Avenue, Topeka.

Donna will lie in state after 9:00 AM, Wednesday at the funeral chapel where the family will received friends from 10:00 to 11:00 AM.
