David A. Curnutt, 79, Topeka, passed away Friday, December 1, 2017.

Dave was born August 13, 1938 in Madison, WI, the son of Leonard and Marguerite (Murrow) Curnutt. He was president of his senior class at Topeka High School. He attended Washburn University where he was a member of Phi Delta Theta Fraternity.

David married Carolyn Johnston on June 14, 1959 in Topeka.

Dave was owner of Restaurant Services, Inc.; a partner and C.E.O. of K & N Pizza Huts, C.O.A. Inc., T.A.C. Inc., I.R.S. Inc., Pizza Joint Venture and C.A.T. Restaurant LLC. He developed and operated Pizza Hut Restaurants in Mexico, Canada and throughout the United States.

Dave was a member and past president of Topeka Country Club and was also a member of Troon Country Club in Scottsdale, AZ., a member of Countryside United Methodist Church, and was inducted into the International Pizza Hut Franchise Hall of Fame. He served three terms on the International Pizza Hut Franchise Board of Directors.

He had a love for traveling, was a Jayhawk fan and an avid golfer. His grandchildren were one of his greatest sources of pride.

Survivors include his wife Carolyn of 58 years. He was the proud father of daughters, Cheri (Scott) Clatterbuck and their children, Adam, Traci and Ryan, Topeka; Christy (Bill) Wiedeman, and their children, Madison (Taylor) Dorman, David, Cooper, Wills, Maria and John Paul all of Leawood, KS.

Memorial services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Thursday, December 7, 2017 at Countryside United Methodist Church.

In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorial contributions be made to Midland Hospice, 200 SW Frazier Circle, Topeka, KS 66606 or the Topeka High School Historical Society, 800 SW 10th, Topeka, KS 66604.
