Oris F. Tunley Jr., 74, of Topeka, went Home to be with his Lord on Monday, November 27, 2017 at a Topeka hospital. He was born January 5, 1943 in Topeka, the son of Oris and Irene (Harrison) Tunley.

Oris attended Topeka High School. He was employed by the City of Topeka Street Department and the Shawnee County Parks & Recreation.

Oris loved watching sports, especially baseball, and was a devoted KU fan.

Oris married Artie L. Luarks on June 26, 1981 in Topeka. She survives. Other survivors include children, Marguerite Brown Ramsey, Jeffrey Tunley, Jeanie Tunley, Greg Brown, Eugene Rice, Sarah Rice, Arnett Rice, Keith D. Steele III, numerous grandchildren, great-grandchildren and a host of nieces, nephews, family and friends.

Oris was preceded in death by his parents and his siblings, Bettye Jean Murrell, Dolores Terrell, Eleanor Tunley, Shirley Jackson, Patricia Tunley and Mercedees Cox.

Services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Friday, December 1, 2017 at Penwell-Gabel Southeast Chapel where the family will receive friends one hour prior to service time. Burial will follow in Mount Auburn Cemetery.
