Phyllis Roberts, 92, of Topeka passed away Wednesday, December 21, 2016 at her home.

Phyllis Jean (Paulson) Roberts was born March 4, 1924, in Newton, Kansas, the daughter of Emmett and Lillian (Rhoades) Paulson. She grew up in Newton.

Phyllis married Raymond J. Roberts, they later divorced. She is survived by daughters, Kim Shafer (Curtis), of Topeka, Jane Keliher (John), of Wichita, KS, and Kathryne Nichtern (William), of Hanover, MA; sons, Daniel Roberts, of New York, NY, Edward Roberts (Gracia), of Wichita, KS, and Richard Roberts (Teresa), of Newton, KS; nine grandchildren; Jay Roberts (Sherilynn), Lisa Roberts, Jennifer (Keliher) (Kenny) Kester, Nathaniel Shafer, Elizabeth Shafer, Samantha Shafer, Carina (CT) Edwards, Erik(Holly) Hatten, Lucas Hatten, four great grandchildren, Sarah and Sage Kester, Henry and Juliet Hatten as well as many other relatives and friends.

She was preceded in death by her Mother and Father along with her nine brothers and sisters, Pauline, Grace, Dorothy, Fern, Ronald, Virgil, Boyd, Merle, and Lee. Phyllis was the last of the ten children and with her, a generation has passed.

Visitation will be from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. on Wednesday, December 28, 2016 at the Penwell-Gabel Southwest Chapel, 3700 SW Wanamaker Road, Topeka, KS 66610.

A Funeral Ceremony will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Friday, December 30, 2016 at the First Christian Church (Disciples of Christ), 102 E. 1st Street, Newton, KS. Interment will follow in Sunset Lawns Cemetery, in El Dorado, KS.

Memorial contributions in her honor may be made to Palliative Care Internal Medicine Lawrence Memorial Hospital and Midland Hospice, Topeka, KS.
