Barbara was born on September 12, 1935, the daughter of Roy and Opal DeMotte in Topeka.
She was married to William D. Macey on April 25, 1952 in Topeka; he preceded her in death on May 8, 2008.
Barbara was a member of Grace Bible Church in Topeka, where she was active in several volunteer organizations. In her later years, she worked in the cafeteria at Tecumseh North Elementary School.
Her greatest focus in life was her family and her four daughters. She will be fondly remembered for her loving care, her patience, and her nurturing kindness.
Survivors include her daughters, Cynthia (Radd) Ehrman of Kent, OH, Veva (Nicholas) King of Shawnee, KS, Dee (James) Macey-Hinegardner of Topeka, and Lisa (Timothy) Cochran of Auburn; 11 grandchildren, and 9 great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband, her parents, and by two siblings.
The family will receive friends from 6:00 – 8:00 p.m. on Tuesday, December 23 at the Penwell-Gabel Southeast Chapel, 2843 SE Minnesota Ave., Topeka.
A funeral service will be at 10:00 a.m. on Wednesday, December 24 at Grace Bible Church, 4021 SE 37th St., Topeka. A private burial of her cremated remains will take place at a later date.
