John was born on January 22, 1950 in Halls, TN the son of John T. and Johnella (Jacobs) Jones.
John served his country honorably in the United States Army during the Vietnam conflict. He was a disabled veteran and resided at Rose Villa in Topeka at the time of his death.
A graveside service with military honors will be held at 10:30 a.m. on Tuesday, October 28, 2014 at Penwell-Gabel Cemetery, 3616 SW 6th Ave., Topeka. John will lie in state at Penwell-Gabel Mid-Town Chapel, 1321 SW 10th Ave., Topeka from 1:00 – 7:00 p.m. on Monday, October 27.
