James (Jim) Albert Williams, 87, Topeka, Kansas passed away October 27, 2013 at Aldersgate Village. He was born May 15, 1926 in Wichita, Kansas, the son of Romeyn S. and Mildred Williams.

Jim was an U.S. Army veteran serving during WWII. He was a member of V.F.W. Post No. 1650 and 7209 and American Legion Post No. 58 or Post No. 1. Other memberships he held were Highland Park Optimist and Southeast Kiwanis Club. Jim was a very active member of Highland Park United Methodist Church, where he served as treasurer and on various boards and committees. He was also a member of the United Methodist Men.

Jim coached boys baseball at Dornwood and girls softball at Lake Shawnee where he later became part of the board of directors. He was a member of Friends of the Zoo and the Audubon Society.

On November 22, 1947 he married Constance at Bethany Methodist Church, in Wichita, Kansas. She survives. Other survivors include their four children, Jan (Wayne), Anne (David), Reid (Janelle), Kristin (Joe), eight grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his sister, Midge and brother, Bob.
Visitation will be held from 1:00 p.m. until service time at 2:00 p.m. Friday, November 1st at Highland Park United Methodist Church. Burial with military honors will follow in the Penwell-Gabel Cemetery, 6th & Gage.
