Ronald “Ron” Hasty

Ronald “Ron” Hasty, 66, Meriden, died Monday, June 20, 2016, at his home. He was born in Topeka, the son of Donald and Julia “Judy” (Westbrook) Hasty.

Ron graduated from Shawnee Heights High School, Class of 1968. He was employed at the Goodyear Tire and Rubber Company Plant and KCR International.

Ron was married to Cindy Butler on March 3, 1974, in Topeka.

Surviving are his wife: Cindy Hasty of Meriden; three daughters: DeDee Skaggs (Dan) of Oskaloosa, Karie Lowe (Jeff) of Meriden, and Stephanie Smith (Troy) of Ozawkie; a son: Troy Hasty (Jill) of Oskaloosa; a brother: Allen “Pete” Hasty (Patricia Eagles) of Oskaloosa; and eight grandchildren: Michael Skaggs, Steven Skaggs, Kelsie Russell, Dalton Knoll, Cierra Smith, Bailey Smith, Cole Hasty, and Weston Hasty; two great-grandchildren: Jayden Russell and Taegan Russell; two brothers-in-law: Gerye Butler (Barb) of Auburn and Gerald Butler (Yvonne) of Topeka; and many nieces and nephews.

Graveside services will be at 1:00 PM, Saturday, June 25, 2016, at Meriden Cemetery, Meriden, Jefferson County, Kansas.

Memorial contributions may be made to Friends of Hospice, Jefferson County, 1212 Walnut, Oskaloosa, KS 66066.

Ron will lie in state after 3:00 PM, Friday, at Penwell-Gabel Parker-Price Chapel, 245 NW Independence Avenue, Topeka, where the family will receive friends from 7:00 to 8:30 PM.
