Margaret Maeona (Gribble) McQuilkin, 97, of Topeka, passed away Sunday, February 7, 2016 at her home surrounded by family and friends.

She was born March 16, 1918 in Lawrence, Kansas, the daughter of Claude and Grace (Shoup) Gribble. She graduated from Topeka High School.

Mrs. McQuilkin was a member of the First Christian Church of Topeka.

Margaret married Wilson McQuilkin on in May 11, 1939 in Topeka; he preceded her in death on September 22, 2009.

Survivors include her daughter, Patricia Olmsted of Topeka, two granddaughters, Michelle Woody and Lisa Carter and two great-granddaughters, Autumn and Victoria Carter.

She was preceded in death by her parents, by her husband, by her son, Michael McQuilkin, grandson, Scott Olmsted and her granddaughter-in-law, Katherine Olmsted.

Margaret taught and made ceramic pieces for many years. She loved to go fishing, especially at Lake Melvern. Margaret loved to volunteer at her church and enjoyed helping out in the kitchen with the church dinners.

A memorial service will be 1:00 pm., Thursday, February 18, 2016 at the Penwell-Gabel Mid-Town Chapel, 1321 SW 10th Ave. , Topeka. Interment will follow at Mount Hope Cemetery, Topeka, in Topeka.
