Steve A. Richardson, 63, of Topeka, died on Sunday, October 4, 2015 at his home surrounded by his family.

Steve was born on May 21, 1952, the son of Elex and Hazel (Woods) Williams in Topeka.

Steve was married to Jana Alderton on September 29, 2007 in Las Vegas, NV.
He was an independent living advocate in the Kansas area for people with disabilities. He was a long time member of Mount Carmel Missionary Baptist Church in Topeka. He loved to fish and he enjoyed barbequing with his family.

Steve is survived by his wife, Jana Richardson of Topeka, brother Harold (Belinda) Richardson and sister Irene Broadnax, both of Topeka; mother-in-law, Carolyn White and sister-in-law, Cathy White, both of Overland Park, KS as well as many other relatives and friends, including Donna Richardson of Corsicana, TX.

He was preceded in death by his parents, his two brothers, Lawrence and Charles Richardson and two sisters, Kay Raimey and Barbara Richardson.

Funeral services will be at 11:00 a.m. on Friday, October 9, 2015 at Mount Carmel Missionary Baptist Church, 610 SE Lime St., Topeka, KS; the family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at the church. Burial will follow at Mission Center Cemetery in Topeka.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to either the American Kidney Foundation, 11921 Rockville Pike, Suite 300, Rockville, MD 20852 or Midland Care, 200 SW Frazier Circle Topeka, KS 66606.
