Katherine “Nila” Graf, 82, of Topeka, died on Monday, June 29, 2015 at Stormont-Vail Hospital in Topeka.

Nila was born on March 26, 1933 in Blaine, KS the daughter of James L. and Margaret “Ada” (Higgins) Keating. She graduated from Blaine Rural High School in 1951.

Nila was married to Hank Graf on February 19, 1955 at St. Columbkille Catholic Church in Blaine.

Nila worked as a surgical tech for St. Francis Hospital for over 30 years. She belonged to the Women of the Moose Lodge.

Survivors include her husband, Hank of Topeka; her children, Ann (Wayne) Jepson of Wamego; Jake (Joy) Graf of Houston, TX, Jeff (Christine) Graf of Claymont, DE, Ted (Kerry) Graf and Tracy Graf, both of Topeka; sisters, Hap Scott and Mary Lou Finan, both of Topeka and Bobbie Jordan of Parkville, MO; brothers, Bud Keating of Wamego and James Keating of Kansas City, KS; sixteen grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents, three sisters, Marge Fox, Bea Feleay, and Kellie Ray and one grandson, Jeff.

The family will receive friends from 4:00-6:00 p.m. on Sunday, July 5 at the Penwell-Gabel Mid-Town Chapel, 1321 SW 10th Ave., Topeka. Graveside inurnment will be held at 12:00 p.m. on Monday, July 6 at Penwell-Gabel Cemetery, 3616 SW 6th Ave. in Topeka.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Helping Hands Humane Society 5720 SW 21st Topeka, KS 66604-3720.
