R. D. Boisvert

R D. Boisvert, 76, Topeka, died Sunday, June 28, 2015, at Saint Francis Hospital. He was born October 13, 1938, in Topeka, the son of Charles and Josephine Eleanor “ Jo” (Wilson) Boisvert.

He graduated from Silver Lake High School. R.D. worked dry-wall construction most of his adult life. He had built, owned, and raced race cars. He was active in little-league baseball at Dornwood, including being president of the Dornwood Baseball Association for four years.

Surviving are his wife: Comilla “Millie” Boisvert; eight children; fifteen grandchildren; and many great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents, Charles Boisvert and Josephine E. “Jo” Gooden; and two great-grandchildren.

Funeral services will be at 11:00 AM, Thursday, July 2, 2015, at Penwell-Gabel Parker-Price Chapel, 245 NW Independence Avenue, Topeka. Interment will be in Rochester Cemetery, 1200 NW Menninger Road, Topeka. Following committal services a luncheon will be held for family and friends at Penwell-Gabel Family Center, 1940 NW Central Avenue, Topeka.

R.D. will lie in state after 3:00 PM, Wednesday, at the funeral chapel where the family will receive friends from 5:30 to 7:00 PM.

Memorial contributions may be made to Shriners Childrens Hospitals c/o Arab Shriners, 1305 South Kansas Avenue, Topeka, KS 66612-1332.
