SSG Kenneth Wayne Johnson, Jr., 52, of Topeka, passed away Sunday, April 19, 2015, due to an accident that occurred in Maricopa, Arizona.

Ken was born January 14, 1963, in Kentucky, the son of Kenneth W., Sr. and Alta M. Johnson. He served in the U.S. Army and the Kansas Army National Guard as a technical inspector for Black Hawk helicopters in the 108th Aviation Regiment at Forbes Field.

He was preceded in death by his mother, Alta and grandparents, Francis L. and Sarah H. Greemore.

Ken is survived by his wife, Lynne Marie; four children, Nicholas, Patrick (Katie), David and Paige; four grandchildren; father, Kenneth; and siblings, David (Shari), Sara (David), Kristi (Kevin) and David.

A memorial service for Ken will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Monday, May 4, 2015, at the Penwell-Gabel Mid-Town Chapel, 1321 SW 10th Ave, Topeka, KS 66604. Inurnment will follow at the Mount Hope Cemetery.
