She was a member of the Victory Tabernacle Church and the Redden Chapel Church.
Virginia married Frank Fleming on April 30, 1974 in Topeka. He preceded her in death on January 22, 2000. She was also preceded in death by one daughter, Julia R. Thompson. Survivors include her children, Della L. Massey, Kenneth D. Massey, three grandchildren, Roseanna L. McCoy-Peet, Jennifer L. McCoy, Joseph W. McCoy and three great-grandchildren, Douglas B. Peet, Sierrah R. Wall and Korrah L. Thuma.
Graveside services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Monday, March 30, 2015 on the Garden Chapel in Topeka Cemetery. Burial will follow. Virginia will lie in state from 3:00 - 5:00 p.m. Sunday, March 29, 2015 at Penwell-Gabel Southeast Chapel.
