Amelia C. “Amy” Edwards, 91, of Topeka, passed away on Tuesday, March 3, 2015 at her home. She was born September 2, 1923 in Cloud Co., KS, the daughter of Alic and Eleanora Erickson Ostrom.

Amy graduated from Dickinson Co. High School in Chapman in 1941. She was a homemaker and was employed by the State of Kansas in the Department of Revenue for 12 years before retiring in 1989.

Amy married Kenneth F. Edwards in 1942 and moved to Topeka in 1952. He preceded her in death in 1980. She was also preceded in death by her sister, Alvira Drake in 2002. Survivors include one daughter, Karen (Mark) Herrmann of Berryton, three grandchildren, Lauren Herrmann of Chicago, LeAnna (Jakob) Herrmann of Topeka and Sarah (Patrick) McCormick of Lawrence, two great-grandchildren, Kelvin Herrmann-Crouse and Edwin Herrmann both of Topeka and numerous nieces and nephews.

Services will be held at Noon Monday, March 9, 2015 at Penwell-Gabel Southeast Chapel where the family will receive friends one hour prior to service time. Graveside committal services will follow at 3:00 p.m. in Liberty Cemetery near Upland, KS, nine miles north of Chapman, KS.
