Welcome to Penwell-Gabel’s Family Center, a warm, inviting and comfortable place for families and friends to gather before, or after, a funeral ceremony.
And when not scheduled for a family gathering, it is available to local organizations for breakfast meetings and evening meetings.
As you enter the lobby you’ll find a bay window and comfortable seating facing a large fireplace surrounded by native Kansas limestone. To your left is a complete kitchen with refrigerators, ovens and a gas range. A large counter is designed for buffet-style serving.
Past the kitchen is the main community room complete with a flat screen for memorial videos, PowerPoint presentations and cable TV broadcasts. It can be configured with tables and chairs for dining and classroom seating, or left open for receptions.
On the East side of the community room you’ll find a beautiful, private patio with tables and chairs, sheltered from the sun by an overhead trellis.
The Family Center is conveniently located adjacent to our Parker-Price funeral chapel in North Topeka.
