Henry Orville Wright, 62, Topeka, died Saturday, December 14, 2013. He was born June 26, 1951, at Eglin A.F.B., Florida, the son of Marguerite Anna (Thompson) Wright. Henry graduated from Shawnee Heights High School in 1969.
He worked as a grain elevator welder-fabricator, retiring after 44 years of service. He loved spending time with family and wood-working. He was a “collector.”
Henry married Yvonne Patricia “Vonnie” Bagby on October 6, 1969, at the Berryton United Methodist Church.
Surviving are his wife Vonnie of the home; children: Patricia Nocktonick (Kevin) of Mayetta, Heather Carlson (Michael) of Holton, and Shawn Wright (Nicole) of Topeka; four brothers: Lawrence A. Wright of Topeka, George E. Wright, Jr. of Topeka, Maurice A. Wright of Burlingame, and Jack A. Wright of Meriden ; eight grandchildren: Joshua L. Nocktonick of Independence, MO, Haydee J. Carlson, Cody L. Nocktonick, Autumn N. Heydenreich, Ashlyn M. Carlson, Jayana R. Carlson, Carsyn A. Nocktonick, Colton A. Wright; and new-grandson-due in January. He was preceded in death by a grandson, Kendall P. Nocktonick, on June 2, 2005.
Funeral services will be at 2:00 PM, Thursday, December 19, 2013, at Penwell-Gabel Parker-Price Chapel, 245 NW Independence Avenue, Topeka. Interment in Half-Day Cemetery. Henry will lie in state after 9:00 AM, Thursday, at the funeral chapel where the family will receive friends from 1:00 to 2:00 PM.
