Gerald Dale Payne, 57, of Topeka, passed away Tuesday, June 30, 2009 at Stormont-Vail Health Care Center.
Gerald was born October 19, 1951 in Topeka to Robert Arthur and Pearl Eleanor (McClain) Payne. He served his country in the U.S. Army National Guard as a Military Police Officer, 1970-1976. Gerald was a Master Plumber and retired from his plumbing business, Payne’s Plumbing, in 2007.
Survivors include his mother, Pearl E. (Bill) Tolle of Topeka, two daughters; Jody (Zac) Broughton of Topeka and Katie Payne of Carbondale, two grandchildren; Kendal and Andrew, of Topeka, two brothers; Robert A. Payne of Lecompton and Ronald E. Payne of Perry, and a sister, Donice Tyler of Berryton. Gerald is preceded in death by his father.
Gerald will lie in state after 4:00 pm, on Thursday, July 2nd, with visitation to follow from 6:00 pm until 8:00 pm at Penwell Gabel Parker Price Chapel. A Funeral Service will be held on Friday, July 3rd, 10:00 am, at Penwell-Gabel Parker-Price Chapel. Interment will follow at Topeka Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the family.
