Dorothy I. Carlson, 102, Topeka, passed away Sunday, June 17, 2018 at Rolling Hills Care Center.
Dorothy was born January 4, 1916 in Paola, KS the daughter of William “Fritz” Koelsch and Irene (Miller) Koelsch.
She married John Carlson on December 26, 1952. They were married 63 years. He preceded her in death on April 5, 2016.
Dorothy and John moved to Topeka in 1958 when John went to work for the Dupont Company. She worked for USD 501 until retirement. Dorothy and John were active members of Hope Lutheran Church for many years.
Dorothy was also preceded in death by her daughter, Phyllis Sue Nelson and a grandson, Christopher Steven Carlson.
Survivors include a sister, Alice Worster, Topeka; a daughter, Connie (Jim) Tilton, Topeka; two sons, John J. (Donna) Carlson, Topeka; Steve (Donna) Carlson, Lawrence; five grandchildren; three great grandchildren, and six great-great grandchildren.
Funeral service will be 10:00 a.m. Saturday, June 23, 2018 at Penwell-Gabel Mid-Town Chapel, 1321 SW 10th Ave. Topeka. Burial will follow at Memorial Park Cemetery, 3616 SW 6th St. Topeka.
