Debbie Schumaker
Debbie attended Wichita schools, Emporia State University and graduated with honors from Newman University of Wichita with a business administration degree in 1979. She worked as a manager for Southwestern Bell and for Green Tree Mortgage in Topeka until moving back to Wichita in 1989 to care for her ailing mother. They amassed a large family history. Debbie's favorite trip was a visit to Alaska. She enjoyed gardening, cooking, playing bridge and reading mysteries, loved animals and especially enjoyed her beloved dogs, Bandit and Charlie.
Debbie is survived by three cousins, Julie Motta Knighton and family, Laurie Motta Eccleston and family and Amy Motta. Also surviving are dear friends Walter James Pfannenstiel of Wichita and Shauna Cross Hastings (Michael) and family of Bridgewater, Virginia.
She was preceded in death by her parents, John K. and Marilyn A. Schumaker.
A graveside service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, June 9, 2018 at Mount Hope Cemetery, 4700 SW 17th Street, Topeka. A memorial service will follow in the Mount Hope Cemetery Abbey Chapel. The family will receive friends following the service.
