Valerie “Val” Merrow, 56, of Topeka, passed away peacefully on April 27, 2018.
She was born on March 14, 1962 in Sioux Falls, SD to Charles and Peggy Merrow. She graduated from West Central High School and went on to earn her Bachelor’s Degree from Southwestern College.
She fufilled her purpose in life through her work with the State of Kansas, most recently as a Public Policy Coordinator. Val’s life pursuit was to be a voice for those who weren’t able to advocate for themselves.
She enjoyed art, traveling, concerts and dancing to the beat of her own drum.
She is survived by a daughter, Nicole Elizabeth Merrow; parents, Charles and Peggy Merrow; siblings, Vicki (Mark) DeWitt, Jennifer Swier, and John (Danielle) Merrow; a granddaughter, Alexis Ford; as well as numerous cousins, nieces, and nephews.
A memorial service will be held in Topeka, KS at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday, May 12, 2018 at the Penwell-Gabel Mid-Town Chapel, 1321 SW 10th Avenue, Topeka, KS 66604.
