John was born in Rantoul, KS the son of John M. and Olive Doris (Roberts) Borland.
He joined the Air Force in 1962 and was honorably discharged in 1965.
Survivors include his sisters, Arlene Burgoon, Topeka, KS, Juanita Whitebread, Lawrence, KS and several nieces and nephews.
Funeral service will be Monday, April 23, 2018 at 11:00 AM at Penwell-Gabel Mid-Town Chapel, 1321 SW 10th Ave. Topeka, KS 66604. Burial with military honors will be at Leavenworth National Cemetery at 2:30 PM.
