Lois Catherine Ogle English

Lois Catherine English, 99, of Topeka, died Monday, February 12, 2018, at Midland Hospice House, Topeka. She was born May 11, 1918, in Osage County, the daughter of Lewis Alexander and Merle Fern (Myrick) Ogle.

Lois graduated from Michigan Valley High School in 1936. She moved to Topeka in the mid-40’s. She was a member of the former Oakland Christian Church.

On June 12, 1940, she was married to Fred Leroy English at Quenemo, KS. He preceded her in death on April 1, 1984. She was also preceded in death by a daughter, Cynthia Downing (Richard); son-in-law: George E. Bardsley; granddaughter: Tami Downing Blancas; grandson: George W. Bardsley; and siblings: Ben Ogle, Irene Tucker, and Shirley Bronson.

Surviving are a daughter: Crystal Bardsley of Topeka; grandchildren: Kim Stallbaumer (Dennis), Shelly Schimmel, Susan Torrez (Martin), Sheila Wolf (Gene), and Gregg Bardsley; great-grandchildren: Colleen Spencer (Leland), Jesey Vopata (James), Cory Schimmel (Hannah), Lyndsley Bernard (Dennis), Brian Downing, Bobi Downing, Rebecca Cano (Lazaro), Lance Torrez, and Richard Torrez; Joshua Wolf, Jordan Wolf, Nicholas Wolf (Victoria). 27 great-great-grandchildren; and special friend: Eleanor Dominguez.

Graveside services will be at 11:00 AM, Saturday, February 17, 2018, at Vassar Cemetery, Vassar. Osage County, Kansas.

Lois will lie in state after 3:00 PM, Friday, at Penwell-Gabel Parker-Price Chapel, 245 NW Independence Avenue, Topeka, where the family will receive friends from 6:00 to 7:30 PM.
