Following a life of service and caring for others, Harmony Jo (Doole) Hines, 54, of Topeka passed away Monday, February 12, 2018 following her courageous battle against cancer.

Harmony was born in Columbia, Missouri on March 15, 1963 to Ronald and Patricia Doole. A graduate of Topeka West High School, Harmony went on to earn her BSN degree from Washburn School of Nursing.

Harmony worked as a nurse at Memorial Hospital in Topeka prior to a 13-year career with the Menninger Clinic, with positions ranging from charge nurse working with adolescents to serving as a Corporate Compliance Officer. Following the closure of Menninger’s in Topeka, Harmony began her career with Midland Care Connection of Topeka where she served as Vice President of Quality and Compliance. For more than 17 years, she helped drive Midland’s strategic initiatives while ensuring the highest quality of care. Harmony was also a frequent presenter at conferences for the National Hospice and Palliative Care Organization as well as the National PACE Association.

Harmony volunteered for many years in church as a children’s teacher for Sunday School and director of Preschool Choir at First Southern Baptist Church of Topeka, and proudly served on the Board for Heartland Honor Flight.

Harmony was preceded in death by father Ronald Doole Sr. She married Andy Hines on April 28, 1990. He survives. She is also survived by her mother Patricia Doole Clark; children Morgan Murdock (Daniel), Kyle Hines (Laura), and Kristen Hines of the home; sisters Melody Heifner (Leland), Ronda Brenneman (Greg), and Donna Doel (Kevin), and brothers Ron Doole Jr. (Sharon), Robert Doole (Sheryl), and John Doole (Jennifer); aunt Priscilla McCabe, uncle David Stevens (Cindy); and numerous extended family.

The family will receive friends from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. on Friday, February 16, 2018 at Governor’s Row House, 811 SW Buchanan St., Topeka, Kansas.

Funeral services will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday, February 17, 2018 at First Southern Baptist Church of Topeka, 1912 SW Gage Blvd. Burial will follow at Mount Hope Cemetery & Funeral Chapel, 17th & Fairlawn.
