Jerry Ray Uhrig, 76, of Tecumseh, passed away Tuesday, February 6, 2018 at Stormont Vail Health.
He was born September 1, 1941, in Watonga, Oklahoma, the son of Joseph Albert and Lydia Kathryn (Fearn) Uhrig. He was a graduate of Mulhall High School in Oklahoma.
Jerry was employed as a terminal manager for the Consolidated Freightways Trucking Company.
Jerry married Doris Jean Fry on July 2, 1960 in Guthrie, OK. She survives. Other survivors include a son, Jerry Ray Uhrig II, Raytown, MO; a daughter, Vicky (Jim) Thompson, Topeka; three grandchildren, Justin Thompson, Jessica Thompson and Rebecca Uhrig; a step-grandson, Scot Thompson, a great-grandson, Luke Thompson; and two sisters, Kathryn Dickenson, Mulhall, OK and Naomi Huffer, Modesto, CA and many nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by a grandson, Jacob Thompson; three brothers, Delbert, Dennis and Kenneth Uhrig; and a sister, Connie Uhrig.
Jerry enjoyed bowling, golfing, hunting and fishing. He loved to go to the casino. Jerry was into woodworking and watching old westerns.
A graveside service will be 1:00 p.m. Friday, February 9, 2018 at the Emmanuel Cemetery, Berryton, KS.
