Jeanetta Mae Stansell

Jeanetta Mae Stansell, 91, of Vassar formerly of Harveyville passed away on Sunday, December 10th, 2017 in her home surrounded by family. She was born November 21st, 1926 in Arrington, KS, to Clarence and Ruth Wilkinson.

Jeanetta graduated from Nortonville High School in 1946. She attended Town and Country Christian Church and the Harveyville Church of Christ. She was president of the Harveyville Area on Aging Senior Group.

She married George Stansell March 28, 1948, in Nortonville. He preceded her in death February 24, 1999. Jeanetta and George had one daughter, Diane Wright, who also preceded her in death on January 15th, 2009.

Survivors include four grandchildren: Janeese Purdum (Don) of Vassar, Glenda Yocum of Vassar, Joel Haas (Cheyanne) of Fort Hood, TX, Jodi Haas of Topeka; 17 great-grandchildren, and 20 great-great-grandchildren.

Funeral services will be at 10:00 AM, Thursday, December 14, 2017, at Town and Country Christian Church, 4925 SW 29th Street, Topeka. Interment will be in West Lawn Memorial Gardens, 820 SW Auburn Road, Topeka.

Jeanetta will lie in state after 3:00 PM, Wednesday, at Penwell-Gabel Parker-Price Chapel, 245 NW Independence Avenue, Topeka, where the family will receive friends from 6:00 to 7:30 PM.
